Based on the One Park concept of interwoven green space, open space, and parks and the ways community residents, gardeners, park stewards, artists and organizations have activated the City’s landscape, this exhibition will focus: Maps and History, with maps and imagery describing the history of Baltimore’s parks from the Olmstead Brothers 1904 regional public grounds plan to the current Parks & People concept; Active Spaces ,Community Places, highlighting “treasures from the urban landscape” through documentation, photographs, interpretive displays, and original artwork; and
VisiTOURS, encouraging viewers to leave the gallery setting to experience the various projects across the city first hand. A Community Lecture Series: will take place throughout the length of the exhibition.
